Explorers
Privacy Notice
Effective July 12, 2026
Explorers is designed to help you record and revisit your own journey. This notice explains the information the service handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Who operates Explorers
Explorers is a personally operated, family-friendly service for account holders age 13 and older. It is not offered through Apple's Kids Category. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@explorers.rocks. General help is available at support@explorers.rocks.
Information the service handles
Depending on the features you use, Explorers may handle your authentication-provider account identifier, linked wallet address, profile and badge preferences, collected Slates, journey progress, Waypoint activity, and Field Log records. If you choose to add them, it may also handle field notes, photos, and art links or credits. The iPhone app requests camera or photo-library access only when you choose to add a picture to an entry; it does not collect precise location, advertising identifiers, or tracking data.
Private diary information
Private Adventure Log content is kept separate from the public experience. The app encrypts notes and photos on the client before they are uploaded to private storage. Versioned recovery material is handled separately so a signed-in account can restore its journal on another approved device. This is client-side encrypted storage with server-assisted account recovery; it is not described as zero knowledge encryption. Do not include information you would not want stored in a personal journal.
Linking the companion app
If you pair the iPhone companion app from Explorers.rocks, the service keeps a random installation identifier, a one-way protected device credential, a device label, app and operating-system versions, and connection, refresh, and expiration times. It does not collect an Apple hardware identifier. A pairing invitation and each approved refresh last seven days. You can revoke or replace the linked phone from the website; revocation stops future server access but cannot remotely erase encrypted work stored on a phone while it is offline.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate your account, save and restore your journey, award progress, support Field Log and sharing features you choose to use, protect the service from abuse, and diagnose errors or performance problems. Operational telemetry is limited to sanitized crashes, performance measurements, sync failures, app version, and device or operating-system diagnostics. Logs are not intended to contain access tokens, journal text, photos, encryption keys, ciphertext, signed URLs, or private object paths.
When information is shared
Explorers does not make private diary content public by default. Content becomes visible to another person only when you intentionally use a sharing feature, such as an Echo Trail or another explicit share action. Authentication, hosted database, storage, wallet, and anti-abuse providers process the minimum information needed to provide their parts of the service.
Your choices and requests
You can choose whether to add photos, art, or optional profile details. The app includes a Delete Account control that removes first-party account data and private Storage objects and requests deletion of the associated authentication account. Third-party providers may retain limited records under their own legal obligations, and immutable public blockchain records cannot be erased. For access, correction, export, or deletion help, contact privacy@explorers.rocks.
